On November 14-24, two visiting professors, Jaime Alonso Gomez, Ph.D. and Denise Dimon, Ph.D., will design and co-teach a 10-session elective course on Base of the Pyramid at AIM.
Prof. Jaime Alonso Gomez was the head of AIM’s AACSB accreditation panel. He comes from EGADE-Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he is the dean and professor of strategy and international operations. He is also an associate researcher at the USA-Mexico Center for Strategic Studies at Monterrey Tech in Monterrey, Mexico. He has been a researcher and consultant for companies and institutions in more than 100 organizations across five continents. He specializes in leadership and business strategy and competitiveness. He obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Economics and M.S. from The Wharton School, and M.A. of Science from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
Prof. Denise Dimon is from the Ahlers Center for International Economics, University of San Diego, where she is the director and professor of economics. She is also part of the Executive Committee of the Business Associate of Latin American Studies and program director of a grant from the U.S. Department of Education focused on competitiveness of U.S. companies in Latin America and Asia. She has worked with a variety of industries such as telecommunications, healthcare, tourism, and manufacturing. Her areas of interest are international economics and the role of business in poverty reduction. She has a Ph.D. and M.S. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master in International Management from the University of Denver. In addition, she has been a Fulbright scholar in Argentina and Uruguay.
