World Bank Global Distance Learning Center

The AIM-WEB Development Resource Center manages both the AIM-WB Global Distance Learning Center (GDLC)
and the Knowledge for Development Center (KDC). Operational since September 2002, they jointly cater to the learning needs of various institutional and individual clients and serve as venues for various activities sponsored by World Bank, AIM and international and local Program Partners.

AIM-World Bank Global Distance Learning Center (GDLC)

The AIM-World Bank Global Distance Learning Center (GDLC) is a state-of-the-art distance learning facility dedicated to training managers using blended learning technologies, and providing them access to a world-wide network of development practitioners and experts. The AIM GDLC  is linked to the World Bank's headquarters in Washington, D.C. and various Distance Learning Centers under the WB Global Development Learning Network (GDLN). Through the GDLN, the World Bank and other content developers around the world deliver training programs and dialogues on development management-related topics such as financial infrastructure, economic management and poverty reduction.

GDLC Highlights

Through the AIM Policy Center and Center for Development Management (CDM), the AIM-WB Development Resource Center conducted a series of globalization lecture and distance learning from several distance learning centers (DLC's) and the Pacific Region.

AIM-WB Knowledge for Development Center (KDC)

There are various existing World  Bank Knowledge for Development Centers (WB-KDCs) throughout the Philippines, and one of them is located in the Asian Institute of Management. WB-KDCs in the Philippines are justifiably called "centers for development knowledge" because they provide a rich source of WB development knowledge and expertise as well as publications from other donors, organizations, academics, experts and research institutions. The WB actively promotes networking and outreach to clients, partners, and stakeholders in communities where KDCs are set-up, thereby opening and expanding access to the Bank, and promoting the creation, sharing and use of "knowledge for development." To this end, WB partners with local leading learning institutions in various regions of the country to promote sharing of development knowledge.
